Craniosacral Therapy

Description

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands on technique to release tension in your body's connective tissue. These connective tissues are called fascia, which create an interconnected web of casing found throughout the body's muscles, bones, joints, organs, nerves, blood vessels, brain and spinal cord. Craniosacral unwinds the bands of connective tissue and interrupts the nervous system firing that keeps repeated tension patterns occurring. In other words, it corrects tension patterns at their source instead of simply treating the symptoms. Craniosacral Therapy works to help the body let go of stubborn pain and repeated patterns of tension from things like injury, ptsd, concussion, headaches, emotional overwhelm, repetitive strain, neck pain, effects of cancer treatments, brain fog, nerve entrapment issues, neuralgia, complex regional pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, depression, scoliosis, stroke, chronic pain, TMJ issues, nervous system regulation issues, and much more. During your session, your therapist will gently hold areas of your body to encourage fascial release. You will remain clothed and face up. Treatments include holds under the body at the sacrum (tailbone), cranium (head), spine, and over the body at the abdomen, upper chest, neck, shoulders, ankles, and anywhere on the limbs. The therapist may advise intra oral (inside the mouth) craniosacral techniques, where the therapist wears gloves and will touch points gently inside the mouth to release the jaw and skull. Clients report deep relaxation and a feeling of floating and clearing of the mind that is deeply rejuvenating as the fascia and nervous system unwind together.
